Jackie Lyons is volunteering at her third 4 Deserts Race at the Gobi March (Mongolia) 2018. She previously volunteered at the Atacama Crossing (Chile) in 2015 and the Sahara Race (Namibia) 2017. Jackie has 30 years’ experience as a theatre nurse specialising in Anaesthetic / Recovery. Over the years she has mentored many students and supported her husband Steve and friends on many sporting events, including Ironman. She has also herself completed many challenges including running, triathlon, climbing and cycling events. Her greatest achievement was completing the Manchester to Paris cycle event unsupported. The experience and knowledge gained has given her the tools to be a successful motivator and team player. Volunteering at the Atacama Crossing (Chile) was an amazing experience. The rewards you get helping others to achieve their potential and fulfill lifelong dreams is something she is looking forward to doing again in Mongolia.
