Dr. Julie Widdson lives in Salt Lake City, Utah where she works as an independent contractor covering Emergency Departments around the United States as an Emergency Physician. She attended medical school at the University of Utah and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at Stanford University. The Atacama Crossing (Chile) 2018 is Dr. Julie's sixth race working on the medical team. She was previously on the medical teams at the Atacama Crossing (Atacama) 2013, Gobi March (China) 2015, Sahara Race (Namibia) 2016, RacingThePlanet: Patagonia 2017 and she was the medical director at Gobi March (China) 2017. After coming home and raving about the races, her husband decided he was tired of being left out and is participating as a competitor in his first 4 Deserts event at the Sahara Race (Namibia) 2016. Besides trying to keep up with her husband running the trails around her home, Dr. Julie enjoys mountain biking, skiing, road trips, yoga and hanging out with her two dogs, Neko and Cash.
