Stage 3
15-May-2012 08:35:43 AM [(GMT+08:00) Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Urumqi]

hi hi, sorry about the blog yesterday wrote but didn not get uploaded.  day 3 complete...yeah!!!  we had a really good day compared to yesterday, we both felt well and strong.  the course was a bit more diverse then the first 2 stages and it was awesome.  more runnable (read shuffle) sections especially te salt flat...between 3 - 4 km on hard flat surface, what a treat. finished in good time. tomorrow a moderate day all the way thru the 4 check points and will take it easy to conserve energy for the long day on thursday...90km.  i am trying not to think too much about it because it freaks me out.  the camp tonight again is beautiful and although quite hot this afternoon it cools off very peasantly around 6 - 7pm. we have wonderful tent mates...very funny and nice, makes for a fun time hanging in the tent for hours.

when i wrote yesterday i had not read yet ball of the blog responses or emails....so i wanted to thank everyone so much for their well wishes and energy...yesterday we really needed it.  fred recovered and was at full strength today!!!

sorry this one is a short one, need to get ready for bed and get my stuff organized for tomorrow...have a much better system then in atacama....just need to work on the food!!!!

OK all for now, sending love from Jordan. xo

I'll keep it short today because you have to rest and get ready for tomorrow. Be safe! Here's something to ponder during your 90KM.... five nights at freddy’s

Just dropping a line to let you know that you are in our thoughts. :) To Lisa: one day to go, and I feel as ready and strong as I possibly can. Thank you for coaching and believing in me. :)

I was totally freaked out about Fred's experience and happy that he has recovered and is moving along to the finish point. I will be be very happy to read the celebratory blog saying that you made it and are moving onto the five star accommodations to mingle and mend. As always you are both an inspiration! I just got back from Jamaica and could not even party in the sun without landing back sick, leave alone running the country! Thinking of you both with love and sending great thoughts yours your way. .

Hey guys, I'm assuming you are now all tucked in and trying to sleep away the exhaustion and will away the aches and pains. Hopefully the adrenaline isn't keeping you up. "Most look up and admire the stars. A champion climbs a mountain and grabs one!". You are both champions! A virtual hug to both of you from all of those that wish we could be there to see you at the finish line. Luv and hugs

Hi! I'm in complete agreement, you are amazing people. Before I went to bed last night I thought "Lisa and Fred are shuffling through the desert in Jordan right now" then when I woke up in the middle of the night I thought the same thing and then when I was eating breakfast I thought "they are still shuffling through the desert". It is so crazy to think that you guys are doing this (again) and for that many hours! You should both feel extremely proud! I know we are all in awe! What do you think of petra? We love you guys very much! Hope you are both healthy and still smiling :)

Hi! You must be exhausted, relieved and ready for this to be over. We've all been thinking about you non-stop and hope all is well. You are just amazing people! "I do not think there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature." John D. Hi Lisa and Fred! Freddie....bummer about your bonk! I told you not to smuggle wine and cigars into the tent!!! haha Lisa, you are right, anything can happen even with the best prep ... but glad to hear Freddie is back from the brink. You will have completed your big day by the time you read this so hope all has gone well. So proud of you guys!!! All our love from our family!

I'll keep it short today because you have to rest and get ready for tomorrow. Be safe! Here's something to ponder during your 90KM.... Tell a man that there are 400 billion stars and he'll believe you. Tell him a bench has wet paint and he has to touch it. Why? Oh and Sarah, moooooo and that wasn't the first words out of my mouth :) Love you!

Hi, again! Keep thinking about Fred and the scary moment you had...comforting to know that doctors are close by. Hopefully there will be no more need for them. The photographs are breathtaking...I wonder if you become immune to those surroundings after a while. Hope you both had a strong day. Sleep well tonight! Bon appetit with all your yummy freeze dried food! May tomorrow be a great long day! :) xoxx

Hi!!!!! I am so glad to read your post. I was getting worried about you. I am also glad to hear Fred has fully recovered. What a huge relief! I read some other blogs and it seems like stage 2 was tough on a lot of people. That's awesome that you are feeling so well Lisa! Have you done any yoga classes yet? You have a captive audience to practice on :) good luck with stage 4! Give Fred a hug and have him give you one from us!! Thinking of you all the time! Love ya sista! Ps: there are some great pics of you, even you would love them!!
