Stage 3
29-Jul-2015 04:36:53 AM [(GMT+08:00) Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Urumqi]

I have completed another stage!!! We made it in to Camp 3 just before dark, it is a beautiful  campsite surrounded by mountains, I will have to have a proper look around tomorrow. Today’s run was epic, we ran/walked (mostly walked) 30km along the Inca trail, some very terrifying descents, hard on the knees and hips. We climbed very steep hills as well. I am feeling great on the climbs, all the work at Joe’s Basecamp has paid off, dragging that damn sled and squatting ridiculous weights has made all of this easier.

Tomorrows stage looks epic, very steep climbs and descents so hopefully my body miraculously recovers overnight. No more chest pain which is reassuring, I have blisters on every single toe and just ignoring whatever is covered in tape, denial is the cure to blisters at the moment, unfortunately very painful to walk on. My salvation are my trekking poles, I don’t think I will ever leave the house without them.
G thinking of you every step I take, cursing you sometimes for convincing me this was a great idea, but enjoying every moment and taking in all the magnificent views just for you xxxx
Thank you everyone for you messages of support, it is lovely to come in to camp absolutely shattered and hear you are all following from afar xxx

Vamos que se puede!!! You can do it, very proud of all you have achieved so far!!! About 130 km more than I could ever manage! Dont worry about the blisters, there is no snow here in Santiago, so skiing is now out of the question! We are waiting for you here with a nice Churrasco and a couch! xx Antonia

Smile smile smile! Half mark passed, now is all downhill. I am sooooo proud of you, I call it a monster of an achievement & the best part is how you are present in your journey, enjoying the scenery, which in the end are the memories that stay with us. Besooooooos Blanca

Stage 3, tick! Bloody great work! So glad your feeling strong on the hills and managing to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Don't worry about the blisters, a bit of tape and your sorted - it's when your toenails start falling off you have to be a bit more concerned :) Well, we're doing ok here but I think Toby's a bit bored during the day. He was so excited when I got home that he ate his food in 5 seconds, then ran round in circles really fast and threw up on the carpet - the only piece of carpet in the whole house I might add. I couldn't be too annoyed with him though, he was just happy to have some company. In other news, Billie won Masterchef and the Wallabies beat Argentina in the rugby. Sending all our energy and positive vibes for the next stage, just show those hills who's boss. Keep on trucking, me and the monkey X.

Yes! I finally get to send you a message on the same day!! Always a little behind... Can't imagine how awesome it would be! It sounds fantastic but bloody tough work!! You are brilliant for managing it! Wish I could be with you.. Next time definitely! Just keep taping up those pesky blisters, what's the worst that could happen??! Toes falling off? They are overrated anyways! Big hug for next stage x
