Martyn Sawyer has supported Camp Quality Hong Kong for many races. He is again raising funds for them in RacingThePlanet:  Jordan 2012 and that he has raised over HKD1 million so far.

Camp Quality is a support program for children with cancer, originating from Sydney, Australia.  The purpose is to provide fun and on excitement for the children (who are often terminally ill) by taking them on camps and organized recreational activities, and thereby also providing respite for their families.

Camp Quality is an international network of support programs operating in over 18 countries, including Hong Kong.  In each country the program is operated within the same guidelines as Australia, and is funded locally.

Susan King is supporting Can Too through RacingThePlanet: Jordan 2012.

Can Too is a non-profit program that matches fitness incentives with a good cause! Beginners and experienced athletes alike are given professional coaching as part of a team to run or swim in endurance events – including half-marathon, marathon and 10km runs; as well as ocean swims. In return, participants raise valuable funds that go directly towards funding cancer researchers through Cure Cancer Australia. Since its inception in 2005 Can Too has raised over $8 million dollars providing vital seed funding to support young researchers with innovative ideas, enabling them to pursue projects that are the most promising in their potential to cure cancer.

Hong Kong\'s Irene Chu is supporting Chi Heng Foundation through her partiticipation in RacingThePlanet:  Jordan 2012.

Founded in 1998, the Chi Heng Foundation (CHF) is a charity registered and based in Hong Kong with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Anhui and Henan. It is a non-governmental organization whose programs are funded by private donors, businesses, and partner NGOs.

“Chi Heng” means “wisdom in action”, and at CHF they believe they must use their knowledge to help people in need. With this in mind, CHF moves from village to village throughout central China offering help to any child with at least one parent who is living with or has died of HIV/AIDS since 2002. CHF thus provides care not only to AIDS orphans, but also AIDS-affected children, thereby ensuring that no child is excluded and each child’s needs are fully understood.

David Grosse is raising funds for Children’s Surgical Centre, Cambodia through the Atacama Crossing 2012.

The Children\'s Surgical Centre (CSC) aims to improve the quality of life for disabled poor Cambodians through the provision of free rehabilitation surgery and general rehabilitation programs.

CSC is a US registered non-profit organisation and is recognised as the peak organisation in Cambodia offering a range of specialised surgical treatment, medical training and support directly to the people of Cambodia. Services provided encompass facial reconstruction, orthopaedic surgery, eye surgery, and plastic and burn surgery. Integral to this mission is the training of Cambodian surgeons and healthcare workers. CSC has a strong focus on building the capacity of all staff and emphasises the development of sustainable health services.

Tan Huynh is supporting Christina Noble Children\'s Foundation through the Atacama Crossing 2012.

The Christina Noble Children\'s Foundation is an International Partnership of people dedicated to serving underprivileged children with the hope of helping each child maximize their life potential.  Our programmes in Vietnam and Mongolia seek to protect children at risk of economic and sexual exploitation, while ensuring these and other children in need have access to basic care and educational opportunities. The programmes include: emergency and long-term medical care, nutritional rehabilitation, educational and vocational training and job placement. This is accomplished within the context of the family and the community whenever possible, and always with love and respect for the dignity of each child as an individual.

Canadian Mary Nielsen is supporting the Davey Fund for Brain Research through RacingThePlanet:  Jordan 2012.

The Davey Fund for Brain Research was created by George Davey (former head of the Alberta Treasury Branch) and donated to facilitate scientists in the Department of Psychiatry and Centre for Neuroscience at the University of Alberta.  Money donated to this fund is 100% dedicated to support research. The research supported by the Davey Fund is dedicated to understanding brain function and how we can better treat brain diseases including stroke, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and neuropsychiatric diseases including depression and schizophrenia.  Being able to assist the brilliant minds conducting research into better understanding the brain will ultimately benefit everyone.
