The RacingThePlanet: Namibia campsite is the central command station each day. The campsite moves to a new location each day, requiring a massive logistical operation. The campsite will feature 20 competitors tents, 5 staff and volunteer tents, a headquarters tent, two medical tents, a charging tent, a media tent and a cybertent. The competitor tents will surround a central campfire with additional fire pits located throughout the campsite. Both the campfire and cybertent will be central meeting places for competitors to cook their meals, check and send emails and to chat about the day.

Competitors will be given the opportunity to select some of their tentmates but most will be meeting their tentmates for the first time when they arrive at the first campsite. Tentmates are carefully assigned taking into account languages spoken, friendships, country of residence and work background. The tents are arranged to provide competitors with the opportunity to meet diverse and interesting people from all over the world. Many long-lasting friendships are formed.
